Heather is a dedicated advocate with a profound commitment to improving the lives of mobility-impaired individuals through nutrition. Having lived experience with mobility challenges, she brings a unique and compassionate perspective to her work. Heather's personal journey has shaped her passion for exploring the intersection of health, nutrition, and disability.
For her PhD, Heather is conducting a mixed-methods research study that aims to explore the nutritional advice or guidance received by the mobility-impaired during their transition to wheelchair use. Through her study, she hopes to identify gaps in knowledge and support and to contribute valuable insights that can lead to healthier living outcomes for this underserved population.
